Accademia Nazionale di Medicina (AccMed) is a non-profit scientific association that, since its establishment in 1991, has been dedicated to the training and continuing education of healthcare professionals.

In 1994, AccMed was recognized by the Ministry of Health as an “institution qualified to provide technical and scientific advice on the training and information of physicians on medicinal products.” In 1995, it obtained legal recognition from the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

Activities

Over more than 40 years of activity - including the experience gained in the former Higher School of Oncology and Biomedical Sciences in Santa Margherita (Genoa) - AccMed has established itself particularly in the fields of specialist medicine and healthcare management.

AccMed is National Provider no. 31 for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

The association promotes projects that integrate scientific, methodological, and technological expertise to achieve training and educational objectives on specific medical-scientific topics.

Planning

Every year, AccMed’s projects - organized into three main activity areas: residential training (RES), webinars and distance learning (FAD), traditional and digital publishing - are developed and implemented in collaboration with the association’s scientific experts. The aim is to provide healthcare professionals with activities that meet their training needs and - where CME is concerned - comply with relevant regulations and standards.

AccMed’s staff, thanks to their expertise and experience in teaching, communication, publishing, IT, design, and logistics, ensure the delivery of high-quality training and educational projects, with constant attention to technological innovation.

Collaborations

AccMed has collaborated, and continues to collaborate, with universities, research centers, healthcare facilities, and scientific societies in Italy and across Europe.

AccMed is a founding member of the Federation of European Academies of Medicine (), represents Italy in the Health and Medicine Section of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP )—a global network of 150 academies—and is a member, through the Telma Consortium, of the online university UnitelmaSapienza.

Its long-standing partnership with Forum Service ensures reliability, quality, and innovation in logistics, technology, and publishing projects.

Quality and Environment

AccMed has identified the maintenance and continuous improvement of its Quality and Environmental Management System - compliant with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards - as a key tool to achieve its main goal: the dissemination of scientific culture in the healthcare sector.
